Lord, teach us to pray
- John Belham

Lord, teach us to pray

Parva Press - £5

So what is it about? This book gives insights and teaching on the Lords prayer.  I found it helpful while reading, to put myself into the role of a new disciple, and asking their question, "Lord teach us to pray?"
Who is it for? The book is a valuable resource for anyone with a Christian faith.  The creative nature of the text and its illustrations make it readable for young and older people alike.  It could easily be considered as one of those books given to conformation candidates or newly baptised believers.
Does it do what it says on the label? Probably more!  Whilst each chapter focuses on a verse from the Lords prayer it seeks to apply it by referring to real life.  John Belham provokes food for thought and draws on other Biblical verses to support his application, which may easily challenge some who seek to live a Christian lifestyle.
Enjoy or endure? One can easily read a section during a quiet time and there are questions laid out at the end of each chapter for individual reflection.  However my only criticism is that  the references to historical events may not connect with some younger people.
Any other comments?

A very enjoyable read, well written and most will find some stimulation for thinking through faith issues and bringing them to prayer.
