No brainers guide to Jesus

Multnomah Publishers- £7.50
| So what is it about? | This imitates the computer manuals designed for easy understanding. The introduction looks briefly at the view other religions and people have of Jesus then states that this book looks at the Biblical picture of Jesus. At least you know where you are. |
| Who is it for? | We wouldn't give this to any interesting young person, it's not difficult to understand but is "packed" you'd need to be keen (very) to read this. Like the computer manuals it imitates it's probably best left on the shelf of a youth ministers office and used for preparation and background information or ideas used like - it's great! |
| Does it do what it says on the label? | It's a little bit like here's the evidence now make a decision. Fine if that's what you want otherwise use this to pick out quotes, Biblical or by famous people and background facts - it'll be really useful that way. |
| Enjoy or endure? | This is not a sit down and read book. It's definitely a dip in and out of resource book. |
| Any other comments? | And what about
that CD Rom? It's not auto play so you'll have the make the
effort to open it! It's got lots of pictures, photo's of
Bible land places and Rembrandt's pictures of Jesus. There's
a list of 'Inspirational passages', various accounts of Jesus'
life and ministry really with a couple of Psalms thrown in.
Just works here, no pictures. Then there's the 218 names of
Jesus found in the Bible with appropriate verses and the extensive
web list of 6 sites, yes 6 - that's all folks!
We don't want to be too hard on this, it is a good resource if you preparing studies or group work, schools lessons or Bible notes on the person of Jesus. To get the best out of it though, you will need to be 'creative'! |
