No brainers guide to the Bible

Multnomah Publishers- £7.50
| So what is it about? | This is coming very definitely from a viewpoint of the Bible summed up in it's introduction "The Bible shows both the human element and the divine authorship, giving it reliability, infallibility and authority" so now you know what you're getting. |
| Who is it for? | This would be useful for anyone who doesn't have a study Bible. Maybe it looks a bit more trendy, a bit less scary than a study Bible so for some it may be a good alternative. It gives titles to parts of each Biblical book so you get a quicker overview. Appendix B has "Easy Bible Study Methods" - quite useful to help anyone look at a Bible passage and get more out of it. |
| Does it do what it says on the label? | Yep, this says it has Bible info on Books and characters and it does! Like other no-brains guides it's a resource not a sit down and read book but it's quite a good resource. |
| Enjoy or endure? | It's a good introduction to a study Bible, or an alternative for those who find study Bibles too scary however, beware, this has long words in it too, you need to have some brain to make sense of parts of this. In places that brain needs to really work too! Try words like 'conceptualised' 'cursive style' and 'configuration' not too difficult but hardly "no brain" language!! |
| Any other comments? | That CD
Rom? Not auto play, if you buy this and the 'No brains guide
to Jesus' you'll find you recognise the 'Inspirational passages' -
yes they're the same, as are the Bible land pictures and the 6
web-sites. Admittedly this has Bible maps not Rembrandt
pictures and it doesn't have the name of Jesus, but it is really
very similar! The other bad news....you can't take these pictures off to use elsewhere - not so helpful! |
